アパレルブランド「tiny dinosaur」デザイナーの山本尚美と、木村泰明、いすゞのグラスアートユニット「JUNIO」のコラボレーション企画、「Shadow Graph」の開催をご案内致します。tiny dinosaur、JUNIOは、目の前に存在するかたちが内包する不可視的な美しさを、常にその影の中に見出してきました。本展ではJUNIO制作の映写機を使用し、ガラス、ニットに光を通すことでイメージを投影。光や影というかたちの無い素材を用いることでしか見えてこない像を浮き上がらせます。自身のブランド「tiny dinosaur」を発足させる前からニットを表現手段の中心にしている山本は、ニットラインを張り巡らせ、ニットで構成された空間と光によるインスタレーションを展開します。素材の緊張感と重量感、またそれらを超越する透明感がガラスの魅力と語る木村は、ニットと融合さでることで、素材感の対比により新たな調和とそれぞれの素材の個性を引き出しています。ニットとガラスは、歌い手と演奏者のように、繊細な調和と予測しない驚きのバランスの上に成り立ち、反応し合います。
コラボレーション with 嶺川貴子
日本を代表するエレクトロニカ・ミュージシャンとして、海外での評価も高く、国内外で活動を行う嶺川貴子。今回の展覧会のために書き下ろした”shadow cradle”(闇のユリカゴ)のレコードを、お越しいただいた方々に配布。同曲は本展終了後にtiny dinosaurウェブサイト
コラボレーション with トリウッド
新人の作品を積極的に上映し、映画界を目指す若者の登竜門的存在、下北沢にある47席のミニシアター”トリウッド”。｢ほしのこえ｣の新海誠監督、｢紀雄の部屋｣｢狼少女｣の深川栄洋監督、「魁！クロマティ高校」の山口雄大監督、そして全米をジャパニーズ・ホラーで震撼させ続ける清水崇監督がトリウッドを起点とし作品を世に発信していった。
そんなトリウッドでもShadow Graphの世界を発表。また、Shadow Graph展の開催情報映像が12/1(土)より予告編で上映されます。

tiny dinosaur + JUNIO Exhibition “Shadow Graph”

We are pleased to announce an exhibition, “Shadow Graph”, which is designed by the collaboration of Naomi Yamamoto, an apparel designer of “tiny dinosaur”, and Yasuaki Kimura and Isuzu from glass artists’ unit “JUNIO”. These artists have attempted to find the invisible and internal beauty of the things in their shadows. In this exhibition, using the original projector produced by JUNIO, the light goes through the glass and knit and project images. By only using shapeless materials such as lights and shadows, finally images come out to the surface. Yamamoto, who has used knits as main medium for her expression earlier than foundation of “tiny dinosaur”, creates the installation of lights and space formed by knit lines. The tension and the sense of weight, moreover transparency is the essence of the glass, Kimura says. He draws the harmony and the originality of the materials from the contrast between glass and knit. Such as the combination of a singer and player, composed by subtle harmony and unexpected balance, glass and knit will react to each other.
Collaboration with Takako Minekawa
Takako Minekawa actively performs as an electronica musician internationally.
The record of "Shadow cradle", written specifically for this exhibition, was distributed to the guests. The tune could be downloaded after the exhibition at the website of “tiny dinosaur” www.ritardan-do.com
Collaboration with Tollywood
“Torywood”, 47 seat small theater in Shimokitazawa, Tokyo, has projected films especially directed by new artists. It was also been regarded as a gate to film industry for emerging directors, such as Makoto Shinkai (Hoshinokoe), Fukagawa Yoshihiro (Norio no Heya, Ookami Shojo), Yudai Yamaguchi (Sakigake! Cromartie Koko), and Takashi Shimizu makes US shake by Japanese horror. The world of “Shadow Graph” will be shown at Tollywood. Trailer for the exhibition will be on screen from Dec.1st.
