郡司侑祐 個展「conpeito」2008年6月5日(木)～6月29日(日)
昨年４月、当ギャラリーで「とろける家」を開催し、極彩色と繰り返し現れる「家」のイメージで独自の世界観を披露した郡司侑祐。今回は新作展「conpeito」として、新たな展開を発表します。様々なイメージが無限に広がる平面作品と、隕石やお菓子をモチーフに作られた立体物の組み合わせで創り出される箱庭的世界。それぞれを「壮大な世界観では無く、よりミクロな世界」と語る郡司の頭の中を覗き見るように体験できます。想像世界のジオラマ化とも言える小さな世界は、テーブル状の箱庭という形を借りて、まるで金平糖が出来るように、ゆっくりと一つ一つの要素を重ねて、時間をかけて不思議な形状を創り出します。ミクロ・ワールドを間近で観察し、絶え間ない発見と共に無限に広がる世界を探索してください。

Yusuke Guji showed us his totally unique perspective through colorful, repetitive images of a house as an exhibition called “Creamy House” in April 2007. He is back with the body of new work as “conpeito”(name of traditional Japanese candy). The diorama world is created with rock-like or candy-like 3D works and 2D works which contains various images. “It is nothing like my grand outlook on the world...it’s just more micro view of the world” said Gunji. You will be peeping Gunji’s imaginative world. Just like conpeito is formed its unique shape, the diorama world of imagination was completed slowly and slowly on the table shape miniature garden.
郡司侑祐 個展「とろける家」2007年4月19日(木)～５月13日(日)
鮮やかな色彩と、独自の抽象的視点で日常を表現する郡司侑祐の初個展。郡司の作品で、多くモチーフとして現れる「家」。シンプルにデフォルメされ、反芻されるそのイメージは、物質的な具体性を隠し、私たちを観念的な「家」へと誘います。ドローイング行為の集積により、自然発生的に全体像を形成する作品群には、増殖するイメージと、注意深く配色された極彩色によって、どこがノスタルジックでありながらも暴力的な力が秘められています。
＜作家コメント＞
ギャラリーでの始めての個展という事もあって、本格的に活動を始めた2004年から現在までの作品を展示。現在にいたるまでの絵の変化を見てもらいたい。絵は年々変化していますが、根本に流れる部分は変わっていません。ほとんど空想によって描かれているけど、自分にとってはこれが「日常」という感覚です。自分の中にだけある、日常の世界のイメージです。絵を描く事も自分にとってはお風呂に入る事ぐらい日常的な、自然な事です。
Yusuke Gunji Exhibition "Creamy House"
2007/4/19(thu)-2007/5/13(sun) "House" often appears as a main motif in his works. The simplified and repeated image hides its materiality and leads us to an abstract and ideate House. His works which are random accumulation results and formations of his drawing actions, with multiplying images and carefully arranged brilliant colors, create somehow nostalgic and sometimes violent expressions.
Artist’s comments:
As this is the first solo exhibition at art gallery, my collection since 2004 when I really started the career is exhibited.
I want visitors to see the change of my work until today.
My work has been changing year by year, but the foundation hasn’t.
The works are drawn mostly by imagination, however it is the everyday life to me.
It is the image of everyday world only exists in myself.
To me drawing is also usual and ordinary activity such as bathing.
郡司 侑祐 Gunji Yusuke
1984年栃木県生まれ 東京都在住
カラフルで細密な抽象柄と、家が増殖していくような絵柄が特徴。
主な展示に、「祭ではでな服をきた娘たち」 (2004 ラフォーレ原宿 3F Sheep)、
「恋のインディアン人形」 (2005 HaNNa gallery)などがある。
Yusuke Gunji
Born in Tochigi Pre. in 1984, lives in Tokyo
His style is characterized by colorful, detailed, abstract patterns and image of houses almost multiplying. Representative exhibitions include “Girls in Flashy Clothe at Festival”, Sheep, Laforet Harajuku 3rd floor in 2004,“Indian Dolls of Love”, HaNNa Gallery in 2005.
The first solo exhibition of Yusuke Gunji known for his vivid colors and original abstract expression of daily surroundings.
